Lydia Cousin Gorman

Lydia Cousin Gorman, 99, took her last breath on this earth and walked into the arms of our Holy Father on January 26, 2021 at her home in Falls Church, VA surrounded by her loving family. Lydia was born June 8, 1921 in Lacombe, Louisiana to Wonie & Mary Cousin. She later met and married the love of her life, Patrick F. Gorman, III. Her second love was raising her six children. Lydia is pre-deceased by her husband, Patrick F. Gorman III and a daughter, Margaret Bennett. She is survived by one sister, Gloria LeFrere of Louisiana. To carry out her legacy, Lydia leaves behind her children Velma Stevens (Frank) of Brunswick, GA, Patrick Gorman IV (Paula) of Falls Church, VA, Matthew James Gorman (Toni) of Clemmons, NC, Molly Davis of Falls Church and Jeanette Sullivan (Brian) of Stafford, VA. She was also lovingly known as Nana to 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, and Aunt Lydia to many nieces and nephews. Lydia also enjoyed hand making rosaries for the ministry of St. James Catholic Church. The Falls Church Community Center brought her great joy through the senior day trips, bingo and other activities. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St.James Catholic Church or Capital Caring Hospice. A private Mass and burial will be held for the family instead of a public Visitation at this time due to the pandemic.
