Mohammad H. Mahmoudi was born on March 10, 1926 in Tabriz, Iran to Kazem and Fatemeh Mahmoudi. Mr. Mahmoudi was the oldest of four siblings; he had two younger brothers and a younger sister. A few years following his high school graduation, at the young age of twenty-four, Mr. Mahmoudi joined the Iranian Navy. During his 30 years of service as an officer, he traveled the world and was given the opportunity to taste the cultures of places like India and Egypt. Later in his career at the age of 31, Mr. Mahmoudi married Manijeh Milani. The couple was blessed with three children; Ali Mahmoudi (1957), Soheyla Mahmoudi (1959), and Sima Mahmoudi (1963).
Mr. Mahmoudi ventured on his final tour to the United States in 1976. He formally retired in 1979 shortly after the Iranian Revolution, and moved to the U.S. to finally settle with his family after a long life of travels.
Mr. Mahmoudi was a very social man. He enjoyed meeting new people, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family. He always looked forward to Sunday lunches that were spent with the family. He also had an exceptional knack for chess and backgammon, which he made sure to pass on to his children and grandchildren. A competitive game with his kids was always more than enough to bring a smile to his face.
Unfortunately, Mr. Mahmoudi’s health began to decline as a result of several hard-hitting strokes. He passed away on February 2, 2015 at Iliff Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mohammad leaves behind his wife Manijeh, his sister Fakhri, his son Ali and wife Rose who are expecting a lovely little girl come March 7, his daughter Soheyla, his daughter Sima and her husband Chuck, along with their three children Kevin, Suzanne, and Shayla, and many nieces and nephews back in Iran.
