Nancy Carol Rosenberg

Nancy Carol Rosenberg, 76, of Falls Church, VA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2020, with her loving son, Mark, and daughter-in-law, Courtney, at her side and Elvis Presley singing in her ear. Mom was born in Harriman, TN on November 28, 1943. She was a beautiful woman and one of the quotes in her senior yearbook was, “blue eyes and blonde hair make all the boys stop and stare.” Nancy loved her first-place show dog, Nicky, a standard schnauzer, as well as her cats of which there were way too many to list. She also loved her grandchildren, Ryan, Alex, and Ella. Nancy was a voracious reader with a preference for John Sandford and James Patterson but waded excitedly into the 50 Shades world later in life and loved the movie “Magic Mike” which she and her daughter-in-law watched a lot…like a lot a lot. She was also a lover of music, which we played often when she was anxious. While Elvis, Johnny Cash, and CCR were her favorites, she also came to love sharing musical interests with her son and daughter-in-law and attended many concerts with them. At one concert, Nancy, who was already showing signs of the dementia that would ultimately steal her from us, sneaked away from her son and daughter-in-law and managed to get on stage and kiss the lead singer of the band who subsequently presented her with a ring-pop ring. Another thing mom loved, second only to her Dr Pepper addiction, were her White Russians, many of which we have drank in her honor since she passed. Nancy is survived by her daughters; Laura Stevens and Tracy (Rosenberg) Belcher and her son-in-law Brian Belcher and their children Ryan and Ella; her son Mark Rosenberg and her daughter-in-law Courtney (Rucker) Rosenberg and their daughter Alex, as well as Ron Rosenberg with whom she raised Mark and Tracy, and George Stevens with whom she raised Laura. She is also survived by her brother, Woodrow Graham; sisters, Frannie Travis, Jodi Graham, and Sandy Faulkner. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Wilson Graham and Margaret Kathleen (Graham) Dayton, her sister Maggie Fazioli, and her brother Wayne Graham. In addition to the formal family who Nancy is survived by, she readily “adopted” Mark and Courtney’s friends as additions to her family, and while there are far too many to name, each and every one of you held a very special place in mom’s heart and you each played such an important role over the last six years. And to those who were there much longer always remember that a steak and cheese better than mom’s can never be had. As was mom’s wish, there will be no service. If anyone would like to pay tribute, we ask that donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, and drink some White Russians—that’s how mom would’ve wanted it.
