Ngoc Huong was a leader in everything she did. Her funeral was attended by all she had helped or touched. The funeral director said she had never seen such a showing of people or flowers.
She attended Rutgers University after being selected from her high school as a superior candidate to represent her country.
After school, she returned to her native country where after working in the oil field in satisfaction of her degree from Rutgers she became an interpreter. As the war drew to a close (while working for the Washington Post) she escaped Vietnam via the US embassy with two of her nephews after seeing that her family had ways of getting out of the country. She had nothing but a bag of clothes that she carried with her.
In the US, Ngoc Huong became proofreader for BNA. It wasn't long before the president of BNA recognized her talents and selected her as Controller for Pike and Fisher. She held that job until she was retired.
