Robert "Bob" Samuel Rich

Robert Samuel Rich was born in Harrison, AK. to Robert David Rich and Naomi Esther (nee Waltz) Rich on February 9, 1945. He went to mission schools first in Brazil for the elementary years, and then to Bolivia to an American boarding school for children of missionaries, since his parents were missionaries in Brazil.

He attended Seattle Pacific College for a time, then transferred to Moody Bible Institute (Chicago, IL) where he met his wife Noel. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in January of 1966.

He married Noel Harlan Crane, of Arlington, VA on January 29, 1966 and together they attended missionary training in Jersey Shore, PA with NTM, now Ethnos 360, to serve as missionaries. They became independent missionaries in Peru in 1967. Their main supporting church was Cherrydale Baptist Church for 50 of those 59 years. They were umbrella’d by a mission agency, Christian Missions in Many Lands.

Robert S. Rich served in Peru for 59 years, along with his lifelong companion and bride Noel.

Bob Rich traveled in Southern Peru to towns, mountains (the Andes mountains), valleys and the coastal regions, evangelizing and helping people, planting churches, sharing Christ. The hub and central focus for their ministry was in the city of Arequipa, Peru.

Robert Samuel Rich is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Naomi Rich, his son, Mark Vernon Rich, his son-in-law, Josue Manuel Raimundo, and his grandson, David Robert Raimundo. He is also preceded by his brother-in -law Jay Hubbard.

He is survived by his wife Noel Rich, his daughter, Theresa Lynn Raimundo (Terri) from Stafford, VA, his son Robert Paul Rich (Kimberly) (IN.), his son Joseph Samuel Rich (IN.) and by Tania Julin (FL).

He is also survived by his siblings: his sister Beverly Hubbard (TX), his brother Paul Rich (Sheryl) (FL), his sister Marilyn Rich Hofwolt (Gerry) (ID), his brother Peter Rich (Terry) (Idaho) and sister Janet (nee Rich) Brinkerhoff (Steve) (OH).

A Funeral Service will be held at Cherrydale Baptist Church, 3910 Lorcom Ln, Arlington, VA 22207, on May 20, 2026, at 10:00 am. Immediate family is invited to arrive by 9am for a private viewing.

Following the conclusion of the funeral, guests are warmly invited to remain after the service for a reception and viewing. The family will be attending a private burial at the conclusion of the reception.
