Sowata Sean Ky

Sowata was born in Fairfax, VA to Mardy Tek and Nach Ky on May 7, 1991. He graduated from Woodbridge High School.

He worked as a warehouse and logistics manager for over 5 years.

Sowata will be remembered as a loving son and a deeply supportive uncle, someone who showed up for his family with quiet strength and care. He was a thoughtful, introspective person – a deep thinker who moved through the world with intention and curiosity. Sowata found genuine joy in nature and the outdoors, drawn to its beauty and simplicity. He sought out and found solace in the hidden and quiet places of the world, both in the landscapes he explored and in the inner life he cultivated.

Sowata is survived by Allicia Tek, Brandon Schmittling, Kinley Schmittling, Avery Schmittling, Wathana Ky, Lizzie Ky, Dean Ky, Rosa Ky, Nach Ky and Mardy Ky.

Memorials may be given to Mardy Ky and Allicia Tek.

The family of Sowata Ky wishes to extend our sincere thanks to his friends and family including Brian Le, Erin Abderalzaq, Yeksson Mendez, Alex Brahmstedt, Eddie Nguyen, Suresh Tamang, Billal Gilani, Matthias and Cholena Baldwin, Nick Chuong, Peter Loh, Angel Hak, and Jeremiah Hoey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, May 23rd at National Funeral Home. Witness cremation will follow.
