Stanley Tempchin

Dr. Stanley Tempchin was born in Washington, D.C. to Alex and Mary Tempchin on December 22nd 1930. He went to school in Washington, D.C. He was married to Barbara Diane Tempchin for over 54 years before her death. He graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

He worked as a Doctor of Optometry for over 65 years for his own company The Eye Care Center. He served in the Air Force, and was honorably discharged as a Captain.

He was an avid sports fan; he loved the Commanders and the Nationals. He loved to play tennis and was able to still hit the ball around into his 80s. He was very passionate about the arts; he was a patron and donner giving to local galleries and theatres.

Dr. Stanley Tempchin is survived by his son Bradford Steven Tempchin & his wife Faren Ann Tempchin, his daughter Julie Ann Tempchin Wimmer, his sister Phyllis Shwartz, his grandchildren Nina and Seth Wimmer, nieces Cheryl Kagan & Leslie Sadlier, and his nephew Adam Kagan.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM Tuesday June 2nd at the National Funeral Home at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA with the Rabbi Lauren Laird officiating. Burial will follow at King David Memorial Gardens which is at the same address.

The Tempchin family will observe Shiva from 5 to 8PM on Tuesday night at his home.
