Ursula Bohren Kirby Of McLean, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 21, 2017. She was born July 13, 1924 in Koblenz, Germany, to Carl and Maria Bohren. Though she resided 60 years in McLean, prior to that she lived in Germany and India, and since then left the beaten path to travel adventurously with her husband, Richard Morecraft Kirby (who passed away in 2000). She earned her Master's Degree in English literature with a thesis on William Faulkner at Cologne University in Germany. She worked for 17 years as a computer programmer and manager at the General Services Administration (GSA).
She is survived by her daughters, Edith Kirby McArthur (Robert) and Virginia Kirby; grandchildren, Daniel Richard McArthur and Shelley McArthur Patterson (Michael); and brother, Heinz Bohren (Regina), of Tervuren, Belgium.
A graveside service will be held at National Cemetery, Falls Church, VA, on October 6 at 11 a.m.
