Warren H Phelps

Of Falls Church VA, on Monday, April 25, 2011 passed away at INOVA Fairfax Hospital with his family by his side. Beloved husband of 63 years of Julia Hancock Phelps; loving father of Karen Davis, Daniel Phelps, and Timothy Phelps, and preceded in death by daughter Melanie Wickersham. Loving Grandfather of Richard Wickersham, Elizabeth Wickersham, Julia Hintz, Jackie Davis and Julianne Davis. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren; Richard Wickersham III, and Joseph and Keirra Hintz.

Warren was born in Glenn Dale MD, grew up in Washington DC and was a graduate of Anacostia HS. Warren was a WWII veteran serving with allied forces in India and China and was a repair technician and later a electrical engineer with the C&P Telephone Company for 43 years. Warren enjoyed wood working and working on home improvement projects, and was very involved with his long time Church, National Gardens Baptist church where he served as a deacon and in several administrative positions over many years.

Viewing will be at Advent Funeral Services 7211 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday April 28th. A Funeral Service will be held at The United Baptist Church , 7100 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA on Friday April 29th at 11:00am followed by interment at National Memorial Park Cemetery at 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA.
