Johnson, Judith C., 87, longtime resident of Bethpage, passed away January 7, 2025. Reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 67 years, Charles. Loving mother of Victoria Knauf (the late Charles), Christopher (Lucille), Matthew, and Jennifer Johnson (David Farahat). Adored Nan of Jordan, Pamela, David (Kaylee Flynn), Michael, and “grand dog” Chunky. Cherished great-grandmother of Payton. Dear sister of Gloria Lorey (the late Ron) and Lenore Kirby (Fred). Treasured aunt of Jacqueline, Nicole Casa (Chris), Seth (Ana), and Caitlin (Eric). Judith had an effervescent personality that was like no other. Having a grateful, faithful heart for God, she was in consistent readiness to share not only her love, but the love and truth of Jesus. Affectionately known as "Jude", she could elevate the atmosphere wherever she went. She was always shining her bright light and joy on those around her. Although she was the sun to others, her family was the light of her life, though they learned to share her while growing a "universal family". Jude played an influential role on many people because of her genuine maternal demeanor and interest in everyone, allowing her to earn the title “Mama Jude” and “Nan” to her children and grandchildren’s friends. Growing up in Brooklyn she was greatly influenced by her father’s Italian heritage, especially surrounding food and the traditional “did you eat?”, feeding everyone who walked in her door. Her intuitive gift for making delicious food, turned her family and many others into "foodies". Music is at the family's core and Jude could sing, dance, play the castanets and became known for playing the maracas. She was a gifted poet, creating brilliance for family's landmark events. Judith’s infectious laugh, radiant joy and so much more will be forever missed by all who knew her. We love you momma! The family will receive visitors Sunday, January 12th, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Gathering at the funeral home Monday, January 13th, 9:30 am, interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Judith’s memory to the Child Fund; childfund.org
