DREAMA GREER THOMAS “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 Dreama Jeannie Greer Thomas, 59, of Fayetteville, WV passed from this life on Sunday, August 31, 2014 with her loving family by her side after a long battle with renal cancer. She was born on March 26, 1955 in Oak Hill. Dreama was the daughter of the late Jasper and Alfretta Greer. We can only imagine the smile on Dreama’s face when she was reunited with her daughter, Rebecca Thomas, and her great granddaughter, Laicee Gates who were waiting in Heaven to welcome her home. Dreama was a member of Gatewood Church of God. She was a certified dietary manager at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. Few people can say they love their job, but Dreama truly did love her work. She was a kind and gentle soul and those who knew her loved her dearly. She never knew a stranger and she had a beautiful smile for everyone she met. Dreama’s greatest joy in life was her family and friends. “If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll live there forever.” Treasured memories of a beautiful life will always be with Dreama’s husband of 42 years, James Kenny Thomas; daughter, Jeannette and husband, Scott Long of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Gabrielle Zimmerman and Michael Shane Zimmerman and Tobias Long all of Gatewood; brother, James Greer and wife, Dianna of Conneaut, Ohio. Dreama’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Dietary Department of BARH, 2nd floor nursing staff at BARH, and Fresenius Dialysis of Fayetteville. A Celebration of Dreama’s life will be 1 PM Friday, September 5, 2014 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Morris Nutter officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. “Keep my memory with you For memories never die I will be there with you When you look across the sky I will be there in the clouds In the birds that fill the air In the beauty of a fragrant rose You will find my memory there You will feel me in the tenderness of a tiny baby’s touch You will hear me if you listen In the twilight’s gentle hush When your hearts are heavy And you feel that you’re alone Just reach down deep inside of you For your heart is now my home I will always be with you I will never go away For I will live on in your hearts” Forever and a day.” For those wishing to express their condolences to the Thomas family, you may do so by visiting our website at www.doddpaynehessfuneralhome.com.
