Born on September 18, 1979 at Beckley, she was the daughter of Dana Gerald Lopez and Sheya Ileen Pennington Lopez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lee Bryson.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Damien “Boogie” Lopez-Bryson; a sister, Tuesdae (Jonathan) Shumaker; brother Kirk Pennington, special nieces and nephews Erina Richmond, Kayla Roberts, Jonathan Shumaker Jr., and Trevor Shumaker, as well as her Mother-in-law Francis Coburger and the entire Bryson family.
Erika graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1998 and had attended WV Junior College. She was a program director for REM Community Options. Erika enjoyed cake decorating, 4-wheeling, camping, and cutting trees. Erika was a loving soul, caring for many kids. Special mention of her foster son James Lafferty.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 12th, 2022, at 6 PM at Kaymoor Community Church, Fayetteville. The family will receive visitors one hour.
Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, will be assisting the family.
