Linda Jeffries of Kettering, Ohio passed away on June 5, 2025, after a full and incredible life. She was born and raised in Mount Hope, West Virginia graduating from Mount Hope High School. It was during these years she would meet her husband and lifelong love John Jeffries with whom she would move to Ohio with and eventually start their own family. It is in Ohio she attended Wright State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Education in 1977. A kind and compassionate woman, Linda used her degree to its fullest by working as a special education teacher for the Kettering, Ohio Public School system, a commitment she carried for 20 years. An avid flower gardener, the only thing she loved more was her family was incredibly proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; much like the flowers in her garden she loved to watch them as they grew and was thrilled to be surrounded by them.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Thomas Jeffries, parents Robert Bolen and Opal Bolen Steplowski, and brother Paul Steplowski.
Left with her memory are her sons John Jeffries Jr. (Michele) and David Jeffries (Mary), grandchildren Lindsey Jeffries Flynn, Merrin Jeffries Camarata, Andrew Jeffries, Daniel Jeffries, Paige Jeffries Oman, Joseph Jeffries and Jack Jeffries, eight great-grandchildren, her brother Robert Bolen Jr. (Jean) and sister Vicky O’Hara. Her beloved dog and dedicated companion Cowboy stayed with her until the end and will continue his duties, staying at the Brookdale assisted living facility to bring joy to the residents and staff alike.
Graveside services will be held Saturday June 14, 2025 at 12:00 pm, when Linda will be returning to Fayetteville, WV to be laid to rest with her husband at Huse Memorial Park.
