Norma Garten

Born 1938 in Fayetteville, WV., she was daughter of the late James Franklin and Goldie Iris Martin.

She graduated from Charleston High School, June 1955, and then married, George A Garten on August 13, 1960. Together, they attended church at Sunday Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, creative projects and spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George A Garten.

Left to cherish her memory includes her three children: George Alan (Clair) Garten of El Dorado, AR, Keith Lee (Julie) Garten of Richwood, WV and Iris Ellen (Patrick) Pridemore of Mt Hope, WV; and thirteen grandchildren: Andrea, Dakota, Maci, Cherokee, Kyli, Codi, Garrett, Brooke, Emily, Carter, Austin, Cora and Evelyn; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, James Martin and sister, Donna (Mike) Ball.

Funeral services will be at 1:30pm, Wednesday July 5, 2023, at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Allen Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral on Wednesday.
