

Ann L. Fraser passed away on October 11, 2017 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. She was born on November 13, 1931 in Baisley Park, Jamaica, Queens, Long Island, New York, to the late Richard A. and Lillian E. Foster. Ann graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1949 where she ran track and played on the softball team. Ann was also a talented figure skater on both ice and roller skates and performed in many shows from 1946-50. She learned to play the piano and organ, she knitted, did crochet and needlepoint, later on using plastic mesh she created scores of different holiday creations. For more than 40 years she gifted her creations to many family and friends, she also dabbled in oil painting and decoupage. In 1951 she married the love of her life Bill Fraser on May 13, 1951 whom she met at Mitchel Field, Long Island, NY. In 1953 they moved to Schenectady, NY were Bill started his 30 year career with GE and Ann was also employed as a secretary. They were not blessed with children. In 1964 Bill was transferred to NJ. There they lived in Somerset where they had a large home and pool, each year in the summer Ann would have a family day theme party such as: Hawaiian Day, Let’s Make a Deal Day, Disney Day etc., and all the attendees would get little notes from her the months before to make sure to have their costumes for the appropriate theme. In 1974 they bought a 9 cottage colony with a home built in 1830 on Minister Pond in Eastham on Cape Cod, MA. During the season she ran the business and Bill was there on weekends and his vacation time. In 1983 they retired to Palm Coast, FL where they both took up tennis and bridge. She excelled at tennis and played until 2010. In Palm Coast she enjoyed hosting and cooking holiday dinners for her friends. Ann and Bill traveled extensively by car throughout the US and Canada. In 1996 they moved to Flagler Beach and she donated her organ to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Korona. In 1999 they moved to a golf course villa in Halifax Plantation where she continued her tennis and bridge. She was loved by her neighbors, her tennis gals and the employees at the local Publix. More recently Bill introduced her to crossword puzzles and she became addicted to them, which helped as her health from COPD was declining and it gave her and outlet. With her declining health her husband Bill took over the household chores. Ann was a devoted communicant of St. Brenden’s Catholic Church in Ormond Beach where she was loved by her church friends and clergy. She was an amazing woman and will be loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Lillian, 2 sisters Lillian and Loretta and 4 brothers, Richard, Edwin, Joseph and William. Survivors include her husband of 66 years Bill, 3 nieces, Dr. Michelle Foster of Sarasota, Elaine Lahn (Ivy) of Crofton, MD; Rosanne Shade (Robert) of Lebannon, PA; 4 grandnieces, Danielle, Kimberly, Allison, Jenifer and grandnephew, David and several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, 2:00-6:00PM at the Chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, 11:00AM at St. Brenden’s Catholic Church, 1000 Oceanshore Blvd, Ormond Beach.
