

Audrey Gore Marcus, 83, of Palm Coast passed peacefully on August 24, 2017 with her family by her side, including her husband of 60 years, Philip Marcus. Audrey was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Political Science. While living in Silver Springs, Md., Audrey was Legislative Assistant to Congressman Michael Barnes and also worked for the Sentencing Project. After moving to Palm Coast, Fla., Audrey was President of the Flagler County Democratic Woman’s Club. She loved animals, including many cats, dogs and birds. She is survived by her husband Philip Marcus, daughter Amy Leslie Marcus, many nieces and nephews including Debra, Rebecca and Sarah Marcus, cousin Isabel Wild, and many good friends in Md., D.C., and Fla. She was predeceased by her parents Aileen and Charles Gore, son David Charles Marcus, sister and brother in law Violet and Frank McGillicutty, sister in law and brother in law Peggy and George Marcus, and cousin Jack Wild. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Family Planning of South Central New York, 37 Dietz St., Oneonta, N.Y. 13820, or Temple Beth Shalom, 40 Wellington Dr., Palm Coast Fla. 32164. Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Flagler Memorial Gardens, 511 Old Kings Rd South, Flagler Beach, FL. Arrangements are under the care of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Memorial Gardens and Crematory.
