Cheryl R. Fasino, 80, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her loving family, Cheryl went home to be with the Lord with grace and peace.
Born on November 24, 1944, in Passaic, New Jersey, Cheryl was the daughter of the late August and Lillian Macek. She grew up in Garfield, NJ, and graduated from Garfield High School.
At the age of 14, Cheryl met the love of her life, John Fasino, through mutual neighborhood friends. Their sweet beginnings—often marked by shared slices from Pizza Town USA in Lodi—blossomed into a lifelong love story. The couple married on June 21, 1964, and built a beautiful life together, raising two sons.
In 1984, Cheryl and her family moved to Palm Coast, Florida, where she fulfilled her dream of becoming a small business owner. She first opened Cheryl’s Candy Corner, where customers could create their own chocolates. Later, she followed another passion—floral design—and founded Garden of Eden Florist, which has served the Palm Coast community for 36 years, lovingly operated with the help of her husband and son.
A faithful member of Palm Coast Baptist Church since 1984, Cheryl lived her life with quiet strength and deep Christian values. She had a deep love for reading, knitting, and above all, spending time at the beach, gazing at the ocean. Though she often missed the snow from her childhood, she was grateful to enjoy Florida’s warmth with her family and church community.
Cheryl will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, cherished aunt, and loyal friend. Her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, John Fasino; sons John and his wife Nancy Fasino and Joseph Fasino; grandchildren Logan Rae and her husband Tyler Alexander Bonham; great-grandchildren Parker Alexander and Carter Nolan Bonham; sister; Cathy and her husband, Vincent Pacifico; nieces Joy, Elizabeth, Christy, and their families; along with many more loving relatives, friends, and members of her church family.
