died, on September 7th 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born June 5, 1946, in Washington, DC, a son of the late Robert Lee Merillat, Sr. and Olivia Bernadette (Cleary) Merillat.
Chris retired from the United States Park Police, Washington, D.C., in 1989, after serving for 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, and actively served during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, golfing and traveling.
In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, surviving family members include a brother Stephen M Merillat, and his wife Darla, of Solomons, MD and special niece Julie A Krupa of Flagler Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L Merillat, Jr., and a sister, Suzanne M Merillat. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
