Frances "Fran" Alongi

Frances “Fran” Alongi, 78, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away at the Halifax Health Hospice Ormond Beach Care Center on July 28, 2022. She was born on August 21, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. She went on to study at SUNY College, Farmingdale, NY, and earned her associate degree. In 1960 Fran met the love of her life Vincent Alongi and they married in 1962. They lovingly raised their family in Massapequa, New York. During that time, she and her husband owned & operated an electrical contracting business for 25 years. In 1996 they moved to Palm Coast, and she worked as a bookkeeper for a Chiropractor.

When she wasn’t working, she volunteered at Washington Oaks State Park and with school-aged children through the Flagler School System. Fran enjoyed playing racquetball, tennis, paddleball, and cards. She also loved gardening and was a member of the Garden Club of Ormond Beach. Her greatest talent was baking especially Christmas cookies. Donations in her memory may be to The Friends of Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Vincent “Vinny” Alongi, her sister Ann (Mike), her children Lisa (Joe) and Anthony (Cecelia), and her granddaughters Emily and Patrice.

A visitation for Fran will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Catholic Church, 89 St. Mary's Place, Bunnell, Florida 32110.
