Gary Joseph Silbert, 77, passed away at his Palm Coast home on 2/17/24. Gary was born in Philadelphia, spent thirty-five years of his married life in Bucks County. However, he was a Palm Coast resident for over twenty years.
Gary is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Maryann (nee Lelionis), his sons, Robert (Brigita) and Richard (Audrey) and his five grandchildren, Olivia, Adria, Griffin, Logan and Mairin.
Gary was a kind, generous and caring person to all that knew him. He was there for his immediate family in words, deeds, support and example. He gathered Anthony Lelionis, his father-in-law, Maryann’s eight siblings, their spouses, their children and all his friends under his wing and treated them as if they were his own family. The feeling was reciprocal.
Gary was employed by Heintz, Division of Kelsey Hayes for over twenty-seven years. Gary obtained his Tool and Die apprenticeship here and went on to become an FAA Inspector.
While in Pennsylvania, Gary was active in the Boy Scouts of America, Bristol Township National Little League and Saint Thomas Aquinas CYO Football league. He was an avid motorcyclist for many years. During that time he served as one of the presidents for the Moose on Bikes out of Daytona Moose Lodge 1263.
The family would like to send their thanks and appreciation to the Advent Health Flagler Hospital for Gary’s wonderful care in 2023. A special thank you to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office for the caring and gentle handling of Gary’s last day.
A Memorial Service celebrating Gary's life will be Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Palm Coast United Methodist Church, 6500 Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast.
