Grace was born July 27, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of Antonia Salcedo, and the late Noe Matos.
Growing up in Brooklyn, Grace was a graduate of Bushwick High School. After graduating, she worked for different restaurants and a hotel. She worked the front desk, and concierge for the Manhattan East Suite Hotel, where she met several celebrities, and visitors from all around the world. In 1992, she met her forever partner, Sev. They met while working for Domino’s Pizza, which was owned by her cousin, and their love story began in February of 1993. They were married March 24, 1996 in Queens, New York, where they lived until they moved to Florida in 2000. They settled in Fort Lauderdale, then moved to Palm Coast in 2005. Grace and her family were members of Parkview Church, where she was very involved and loved by all. She stayed at home to raise her three children and went back to work when they were all old enough to go to school. This was the most important thing for her, raising the children since it was their responsibility as parents. She worked various jobs, from serving in restaurants to running the hardware department at Home Depot. She later became the former Office Manager for Child Evangelism Fellowship. She then worked for Sev’s business, Goosehead Insurance Agency.
Grace enjoyed crafting, quilting, gardening, dancing, flipping furniture, and decorating the house - especially for the fall season. She loved her cats, a nice slice of pizza, and an ice cold Coca-Cola. Most of all, she loved God. Her friends all describe her as a prayer-warrior and sacrificial, with unshakable faith.
Besides her mother, Antonia, she is survived by her husband of 25 years, Severino Tamayo, her three children, Jonathan Tamayo, Sarah Tamayo, and Nicholas Tamayo; Four siblings, Wendy Aponte, Noemi Lopez, Inez Hoo, and Alida McKeehan.
Family and friends will be received Friday, January 21, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home. A service celebrating her life will be Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Parkview Church, with Pastor Greg Peters officiating.
