Herbert “Herb” F. Bensen 94, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on January 4, 2021. He was born on September 11, 1926 in Melbourne, Florida to the late John and Ethel Bensen. Herb was raised by his maternal aunt, Mary Louise Rogero. As a young man he served in the United States Military, first in the Army where he fought in WWII, then in the Air Force where he fought in the Korean War, and finally he served 30 years in the Air National Guard for a total of 40 years in service to his country. His memberships included the VFW and the Knights of Columbus. Herb’s greatest love was spending time with his beloved family especially his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra; children, Teresa and her husband Mike Catlett, Melanie and her husband Jim Cundiff, Linda and her husband Chip Hyers; grandchildren, Shaun, Rachel, Brian, Brendan Clayton, Madison, Alexis, Tanner, Gracie and Carly; great-grandchildren, Kent & Jacob; sister, Marie Tyson and many more loving relatives and wonderful friends. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
