It is with great sorrow that the family of John Thomas Ryan announces that Tom, 80, of Ormond Beach returned to the Lord on January 12, 2022. Tom was born to Thomas and Alice Ryan in Detroit, Michigan, on June 8, 1941. He was a Captain and pharmacist in the US Army. After his Honorable Discharge, Tom continued his pharmaceutical career until retirement.
Tom is survived by his loving bride, Mary Joyce Ryan, his sons Andrew (and Melissa) Ryan, Billy (and Amber) Ryan, Matthew (and Heather) Ryan, and Joseph (and Sarah) Ryan, his daughters Stacey (and Bradley) Fuller, and Sharon (and Glen) Schwarz, and his nephew Stephen (and Viktoriia) Aldred. He is further survived by 18 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends.
Tom was a loving husband and father, and a devoted Catholic. There was nothing Tom liked better than an interesting conversation with family or friends, a well-timed dad joke with grandkids, or a University of Michigan Wolverine victory.
The family requests that donations to St. Joseph's Carmelite Monastery in Bunnell, Florida be made in his name in lieu of flowers. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 4, 2022, 11:00AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Korona. FL.
