

Born on October 14, 1954, in Portland, Maine, Joseph was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Joan Ganem. He was raised in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, where he developed a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for family that would remain with him throughout his life.
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Rhode Island and began working as a chef at his father’s restaurant, the Maple Root Inn in Coventry. His passion for food and hospitality was evident to all who knew him, and it laid the foundation for his lifelong entrepreneurial spirit.
Over the years, Joseph built a successful career as a business owner, operating several ventures, including CNJ Storage Solutions in Bunnell. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he formed along the way.
Joseph had a zest for life that showed in his many interests. He was a true food enthusiast who loved cooking and enjoyed sharing meals with loved ones. He found freedom and joy riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, listening to rock and roll music, traveling and had a special love for dogs, whose companionship brought him comfort and happiness.
Above all, Joseph cherished his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who found his utmost happiness in time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his five children: April Picozzi, Kurt Ganem, Meagan Hamblin, Michaela Ganem, and Brent Ganem; and his three stepchildren: Christopher McVeigh, Kelli McDonnell, and Lindsey Gist, and thirteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Bonang, Darlene Morocco, and Brenda Lowe; his brother, Harold Taylor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Ganem Sr., and his nephew, Bruce Ganem Jr.
Family and friends will be received at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach Saturday, April 11th from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM where they will gather to honor and celebrate Joseph’s life at 11:00 AM.
Joseph will be remembered for his strength, his entrepreneurial spirit, his love of the open road, and most importantly, his unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
