She was born November 3, 1966 in Brunssum, the Netherlands, a daughter of Johannes and Marie (van Dorst) Drummen.
Miriam grew up in the Netherlands, and where she served her country proudly as a member of the Royal Marechaussee (Dutch Military Police). She enjoyed traveling with her family, taking care of her family, riding horses, photography, animals, and gardening. She also dedicated much of her time to volunteer work with the Daytona Beach German Shepherd Rescue, which she had a huge passion for.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bret H. Wood, whom she married June 5, 1992, her father, Johannes of the Netherlands, her son, Samuel Wood of Palm Coast; a step-daughter, Sadie (Kevin) Schuck of Nashville, TN, five grandchildren, Alexia Lynn, Christian, Flora Mae, Felix, and Rory Winifred.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Courtney Wood.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
