Marlene Mae Gilman, 82, a devoted follower and faithful servant of Jesus, saw her Savior and Lord face-to-face on 1 March 2026, at Advent Hospital with her beloved Husband, Harry. Marlene was born on 6 May 1943, to the late Grant and Esther (Curry) Styer in Sellersville, PA. She was the beloved wife of Harry William Gilman for 57 glorious years, the mother of 2 children and “Granny G” to 11 grandchildren. Marlene graduated from a year at a local business school followed by a year at Bob Jones University.
Marlene and Harry William Gilman have been long-time residents of Flagler, FL, After a journey that took them through Church Ministry in the Fairview section of Camden, NJ, and Elyria, OH where she played the organ alongside her Minister husband, followed by ministry in the U.S. Army where she served as a Secretary for offices spanning numerous duty stations across the U.S., Germany, and included time in the Pentagon.
Marlene is survived by Harry, their two children, Scott (Andrea) Gilman, Heather (Tony) Hamilton, and their 11 grandchildren: Allison, Joshua, Daniel Hannah, Jordan, Samuel, Joni, Caleb, Joseph, Josiah, Joy, and their granddaughter-in-law, Michaela; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many precious friends that have all blessed her and her family throughout the years – THANK YOU!
Marlene shared her love for the Lord through music – she enjoyed playing the organ, piano, and the accordion. She treasured the times she played with her Sisters, the late Jean Moyer, and her surviving Sister, Ruth Buch. Her Sisters were most precious to her!
She enjoyed her books (and book club), quilting (and her quilting group), and joining Harry for bingo night at the Plantation Oaks Community clubhouse! Her hallmark was her joy in being a continual student of our Lord and Savior – participating in Bible studies at her Church and waking daily to spend time with Him in His Word.
She brought joy, her laugh was infectious, and she loved her family so deeply and so well.
