Mary Ellen Lenihan

Mary Ellen Lenihan 85, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on June 10, 2023. She was born on May 22, 1938 in New York City to Jack and Mary Ellen (Brady) Kelly. She had a very successful career as a realtor/broker in the Orlando market for 30 years and then another 10 years in the Palm Coast area retiring with Watson Realty. Mary Ellen never met a stranger and would welcome any new clients to the Orlando area home for dinner.

Mary Ellen was a woman of faith who served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs. She gave communion to housebound seniors that were her extended family, and she also visited nursing homes to anoint the sick. Every Sunday, her door was always open for Sunday dinners with all the Priests from St. Mary Magdalen. Mary Ellen loved her travels back to Ireland to visit her extended family across the pond with her husband, Jim. Her sense of fashion and style was impeccable after growing up in NYC, she loved her “retail therapy”. Her gregarious “New Yorker” personality and high energy was contagious and she loved her home filled with laughter and love. We know that she will continue to throw glorious parties in her afterlife.

Your light and love will always be remembered and cherished by her family and friends. Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jim Lenihan; children, Mary Ellen and her husband John Nicholson, Tricia and her husband James Lane, Kathy Lenihan, and Jim and his wife Renee Lenihan; grandchildren, Jack, Sydney and Sam; brother, John and his wife Joyce Kelly; sister, Ronnie Pryor and her husband Jack and many more loving nieces, nephews relatives and wonderful friends.

A funeral mass for Mary will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 230 South Old Dixie Highway, Bunnell, Florida 32110.
