Richard F. Lauria

Richard Lauria passed away quietly at home on January 7, 2024, at the age of 85 in Palm Coast, Florida. Although he battled cancer the last years, he welcomed every day with the most loving positive attitude and never a complaint. His laugh, humor and his jokes will always be remembered most. He knew how to make everyone laugh.

After serving his country in the U.S. Army, he became a New York City police officer and then a police detective for 22 years. He retired in 1993 and settled in Palm Coast, Florida where he enjoyed his wonderful retirement years. He was a member of the German American Club of Palm Coast, serving as President for many years. He currently was the Vice President of the Italian American Club of Palm Coast.

He played senior softball up to the age of 80. His retirement years were lived to the fullest.

Rich met his wife Beverly in 1955 in Brooklyn, New York and they have been inseparable since, married 61 years. They loved their life in Florida and did everything as a team.

In addition to his beautiful wife Beverly, Rich is survived by his daughter Michele Conigliaro, son in law Tom Conigliaro of Lake Mary, Florida, son Richard Lauria, daughter in law Joan Catricola of Staten Island, New York. Rich is survived by his three grandchildren Danielle Conigliaro, Thomas Conigliaro and Madison Lauria.

He also leaves behind his brother James Lauria, sister in law Connie Lauria, brother in law Chet Poeta, brother in law Ken Kraemer, sister in law Colette Kraemer, sister in law Jacquelyn Ribertelli, brother in law Joe Ribertelli, close cousins Kevin and Lil Sarsfield and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his loving family members, Rich leaves behind his beloved cat Missy who brought him pure joy every day.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach, where services will be held at 3:00 PM
