Richard Smith of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away suddenly on April 16, 2025. Richard was born at home in South Ozone Park, New York on December 31, 1938, to Joseph and Marion Smith. He was one of 7 children and was predeceased by his 4 brothers, John, Joseph Jr., Donald and Robert, and 2 sisters, Mildred and Eleanor. Also predeceased by his adopted brother and Godfather, Frank Mock. Never marrying, Richard was a wonderful Uncle and Godfather. He left behind numerous nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. He loved to paint, read, and his weekly Bingo outings. Fiercely independent, he lived in Southbury, CT for over 20 years before realizing his dream of moving to Florida to be near family.
