Violet was born on January 23, 1941 in Kingston, Jamaica. She was the elder of two children born to her parents.
At 19 years old she met Vernamae Johnson, who became her life-long friend until her death. Both of them migrated to the United States in the 1960’s, where Violet settled in Brooklyn. She worked for JP Morgan Chase where she retired from in 2001 after 30 years.
After settling down in Palm Coast, Violet chose to volunteer to keep active. She first volunteered at Odyssey Healthcare, then at Bunnell Free Clinic until she got ill.
Violet was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara, her niece Jacqueline and brother-in-law Rupert. Violet leaves to cherish her loving memory, Vernamae Johnson, Marie, her God-Daughter, Richard, Trevor, Ciarra, Tanya, Terry, Rosario, and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be Saturday, September 3rd at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5400 Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast. Inurnment will follow at Flagler Memorial Gardens. A repast will follow at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach.
