

Born on September 12, 1939, in Cordele, Georgia, he was the son of the late Eldon and Laura May Floyd. At the age of 15, William and his older brothers moved to Ormond Beach, Florida, to help support their family. A hardworking and dedicated man, he spent his life building a legacy of hard work and devotion.
He married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Wallace in 1961 and together they raised 5 children.
William worked as a roofer, later for the City of Ormond Beach, and at Julien's Restaurant. Seeking better opportunities, he moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked for Lay's Potato Chips and later retired as a Computer Floor Installer. In 2004, William returned to Florida to live with his daughter and her family.
An avid fisherman, a wrestling enthusiast, and a former boxing trainer in his younger years, William cherished his family and his faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Wallace Floyd, in 1992, and his 16 siblings.
William is survived by his children: Michael Wallace, Tyrone Wallace, William Floyd Jr., Nute Floyd, and Lisa Floyd Davis; his grandchildren: Anthony, Jerard, Matthew, Danielle, Michael Jr., and Crystal Michelle; 21 great-grandchildren; his only surviving sibling, Cecile Floyd; godson, Jake Bellman as well as many loving relatives and friends.
A devoted father, grandfather, and friend, William will be remembered for his strength, his love of life, and the unwavering devotion he had for his family.
