

John was born on February 19th, 1969, in Flint, Michigan to Donald and Linda (Glasco) Harris. John married his wife, Beth, on May 25th of 1991. They created a wonderful family built on faith, love and generosity.
John grew up and graduated from Swartz Creek; he then graduated from Eastern Michigan University and started his career at General Motors as a Supervisor at Flint Truck and Bus. He continued his education with an MBA from Baker College. He then continued his career in Lean Management at companies like Dow & most recently Danfoss Power Solutions.
John’s family was of the utmost importance to him. He was a devoted husband, a loving dad and grandpa, and a true family man who always put his loved ones first. He took pride in providing for his family and showed his love not only through his words, but through his constant presence, guidance, and unwavering support. Whether it was offering encouragement, sharing laughter, or simply being there when he was needed most. His commitment and big heart created a home filled with love and warmth—a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to call him husband, dad, and grandpa.
Outside of faith and family, John had many other loves. His love for music started young, he had a playlist for almost anything. He also could share the meaning behind the lyrics of many songs. Christmas was his favorite time of the year; his joy started with his parents and brother. He continued Christmas traditions with his family throughout his life, expressing the same Christmas joy. He also shared his love for Michigan Sports with anyone who listened, always with a friendly “GO BLUE” anywhere he would see someone in Maize & Blue.
John is survived by, his loving Wife, Beth Harris;
Children, Victoria (Zachary) VanAlst, Amanda (Ryan) Reynolds, Andrew (Emma) Harris;
Grandchildren, William, Jackson, Hunter, and Grayson VanAlst, Colton Reynolds and twins on the way.
Also, his mother-in-law, sister and brothers-in-law, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, his parents Donald and Linda Harris;
Brother Donald Harris Jr., Father-in-law Chris Hummel, Sister-in-law Denise Cox, and Uncle Tommy Harris.
The Funeral Visitation will take place at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 Pierson Rd, Flushing, Michigan 48433, on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Flushing Community Church of the Nazarene, 9500 W. Pierson Road, Flushing, Michigan 48433, on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 3:00pm with visitation one hour prior. There will be a dinner provided following the service.
