Leslie Lynn Weems

Leslie was born on February 18, 1980, in Lansing, Michigan to Sandra and Thomas Lander. In October 1982, Leslie’s sister, Trisha was born. Her parents later separated, and she was then raised by two sets of parents, Thomas and Laurie Lander, and Sandra and Jerry Cruson, who brought with them five step siblings: Jake and Jesse Cruson, and Ryan, Clint, and Kristi Melser.

Leslie married Damian Weems in August of 1998, and they spent 30 wonderful years together. They had three children: Adriana (Joel E), Damian Jr. (Makenna M) and Davin Weems. She was then blessed with a grandson, Damian Weems III, in August 2025.

Her biggest love was raising her children and from the day her eldest was born we knew she was meant to be a mom. As her children grew older, they brought in friends and significant others that Leslie welcomed and treated as her own. 

Outside of spending time with her family, Leslie enjoyed gardening, canning and the great outdoors. If you knew her, you know she loved her music loudly, singing every lyric and dancing in her kitchen. She spent many years working at the Admiral station and loved the connections she made with the community.
