

Mark was a man of many accomplishments and interests. His career was marked by his service in the United States Navy as a linguist, specializing in Farsi, and he served during the Gulf War, showcasing his dedication and skill.
A devoted fan of the University of Michigan and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mark enjoyed watching football and Detroit Tigers baseball. He loved to play golf and was known for being a great storyteller, even if some of his jokes were not always the best. His generosity and loving nature were well-known, as he never met a stranger and was compassionate to all he encountered.
Mark's favorite place to visit was Marathon, Florida, where he found joy and peace. He loved his dogs dearly and enjoyed simple pleasures like Dr. Pepper and a sub sandwich. Known affectionately as the "Mayor of McLaren," he made many friends with the nurses and aides at McLaren Lapeer Hospital, where his warmth and kindness left a lasting impression.
Mark Daniel Altheide will be remembered for his devoted heart and generous spirit.
Mark leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of twenty-seven years Kim; mother Judi (Hal "Pops") Persails, brother Tracy Altheide, mother-in-law Sue (Don) Ramlow; father-in-law Rick D'Aigle (Maurine), sisters-in-law Brandi (Andy) Stewart and Nicole Altheide; nieces and nephews Kelsey, Maddie, Christopher, Colin, Ava, Max and Jax; best friends Aprille, Rich and Nanette, Kory and Michele, and Ron and Beth; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Philip Altheide, grandparents Dan and Irma Altheide, and grandmother Glenice Hodgson.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held at a later date and time.
