Sonny graduated from Flushing High School in 1954. He took genuine pleasure in work and in the steady satisfaction of understanding how things run, especially anything with a motor. Throughout his life, his interest and skill found expression in the machines he enjoyed most, including cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, go karts, and more. In the winter months, Sonny was a snowbird who traveled to Yuma, Arizona.
Above all else, Sonny held his family close and counted them among the most important parts of his life. He is survived by his wife, Cameron Young; his children Dean (Donna) Young, Michelle (Craig) Rosencrantz, and Lynn (Randy) Criswell; and by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Sonny was preceded in death by his first wife, Eugenia “Jeannie” Young, and his siblings Shirley Clark, Orville Young, Ronald Young, and Gary Young.
According to his wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held.
