BURKS, Robert Stanley, age 84, of Flushing, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Military Burial Services will be 9:30AM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly. Robert was born July 7, 1930 in Huntland, Tennessee the son of the late Addie and Ethel (Watson) Burks. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1951 to 1953. Robert married Naomi Carroll on April 11, 1954 in Georgia. He was employed by A.C. Spark Plug as Welder until his retirement in 1983. Robert was a Lifelong Member of the Masonic Lodge 23 F & AM.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Naomi; sons, Thomas A. Burks and wife, Debra, Joseph K. Burks; five grandchildren, Patrick, Emily, Kristie, Alishia, Amanda; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, William Burks.
