Beatrice Lau Kee

Born in New York on October 14, 1932, Beatrice was the youngest of 5 children of Sing Lau Kee and Ina Chan Kee. She attended Skidmore College for her undergraduate degree and University of California, Berkeley for her Masters degree. Beatrice’s career as a nutritionist started as a New York State Health Inspector and culminated as a Professor at Queensboro Community College, School of Nursing.

After retirement, Beatrice put her energy into endurance sports – swimming, long-distant running, and bicycling, always working to improve her strength and times. She ran marathons in her 50s and then started long-distant bicycling in her 60s, crossing the country twice in addition to other long national and international trips.

The most important part of her life was her faith which she found during her college years. Her family extended beyond her relatives to her family through Christ to which she was deeply connected. Beatrice will be remembered for her dedication, devotion and love to her family, her friends, her Christian community, her charitable activities, and most of all to her faith.

Beatrice is survived by her longtime friend and housemate, Doris O’Neill, her sister-in-law Virginia M. Kee, her nephew and godson Glenn Lau-Kee, nephews, nieces, and extended family.

Friends and family are invited to Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. At 5:00 PM there will be a service by Pastors Hector Sanchez and David Ellis of Redeemer East Side Church. Refreshments will be served.

Burial will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Family and friends will gather at Frederick Funeral Home at 9:00 am and, after a brief service by Pastor Hector Sanchez, leave for Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla (Westchester) at 10:00 am.
