

Born on May 17, 1927, she was the daughter of Charles Joachim Carpenter and Josephine Catherine Doyle. On June 29, 1947 Dolores married George G. De Meyere who died on March 25, 1990.
Dolores spent many years living overseas with her husband and children in Sumatra, Indonesia and then Libya before returning to the U.S. and settling into a “normal” life in Commack. There she worked part-time as a Librarian in the schools and a few years later became a Tax Examiner for the IRS in Holtsville, NY where she worked until she retired in the late 1980’s.
She is survived by her 4 children -- Dolores De Meyere (Ernest Kuehl), Robert De Meyere, Patricia De Meyere (Chris Christophorou) and Joseph De Meyere; her special grandchildren -- Michael Kuehl, Sarah Kuehl, Meghan De Meyere Freeman (Tim Freeman), Kathryn Christophorou, Andrew Christophorou and Daniel Christophorou; and her precious great-grandchildren -- Reilly Freeman and Katie Marie Freeman.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Charles Carpenter, and her sisters Marguerite Carpenter, Kathleen Stiess and Patricia Carpenter and daughter-in-law Marge Milazzo De Meyere.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 16th from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the Quinn-Fogarty Funeral Home, 162-14 Sanford Avenue, Flushing New York. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 17th at 9:45 am at St. Kevin’s Church, 45th Ave. & 194th Street, Flushing, NY.
She had a special place in her heart and life for Catholic Charities and the work they do. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Catholic Charities of the Albany Diocese: Catholic Charities, 40 North Main Ave., Albany, NY 12203.
