

James Moran, a resident of Flushing for 56 years and formerly of England and Ireland, died on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Born in Knock, County Mayo, Ireland on June 19, 1924, he was the son of James and Delia (Byrne) Moran. He was a proprietor of a Blarney Stone in Manhattan for many years.
On September 17th 1949, in New York, James Moran married Jean who passed away in July of 2014. He was the beloved father of James Moran, John Moran (wife Joyce) and Anne (husband Joseph Tierney); cherished grandfather of Kevin Moran, Patricia Moran and Liam McCabe-Moran; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Tom and Martin and is survived by his beloved sisters, Nora, Delia, and Anne.
Visitation will be held at Quinn-Fogarty Funeral Home located on 192-15 Northern Blvd in Flushing on Friday, 3-8 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Mary’s Nativity Church at 9:45 am on Saturday, December 13, 2014. James will be laid to rest at Mt. Saint Mary’s Cemetery following the mass.
