John Timothy Astarita

John was a humorous, hard-working, and thoughtful man who devoted his life to his family and community. He proudly served as an Army veteran, a testament to his dedication and commitment.

He was the beloved husband of the late Thomasina and a loving father to Mark (Ellen) Astarita, Lauren (Robert) Ford, and Matthew (Doreen) Astarita. John was also a cherished Pop-Pop to his grandchildren: Jillian, Erika, Alexa, Samantha, Kelsey, Ashley, Brooke, Sydney, and Russell. He was a dear brother to Richard.

In his personal life, John had a passion for playing cards, collecting stamps, bowling, and watching the NY Mets. His favorite pastime was being a longtime patron at Il Bacco Restaurant every day, where he enjoyed the company of friends and family.

John Timothy Astarita will be remembered for his devotion, humor, and the love he shared with those around him.

Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on February 17, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Interment will take place at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, located at 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, Flushing, NY 11365, on February 18, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
