Joseph J. Porreca

Joseph Jerome Porreca, 95, a former longtime resident of Harlem, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the Bronx on March 15, 1929. Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife Minerva (2011) of 47 years and his parents Joseph and Raffaela (Lulu) Porreca.

He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army. An accountant by profession, he worked a at Columbia University until his retirement in 1986.

Joe was a fun loving, and caring person, with a big heart, known for his love of racquetball, traveling, good food, white zinfandel wine, and jazz music.

Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, many of whom he met at Riverview Towers where he lived for over 58 years.

Joe is survived by a host of extended loving family, and friends.

The family invites you to join them in a Celebration of Life for Joe on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 10:00AM to 12:30PM at Fredrick Funeral Home 192-15 Northern Boulevard Flushing, New York 11354.

Interment immediately following at 1PM at Flushing Cemetery, 163-06 46th Avenue, Flushing, NY 11358.
