Mattea Cucinella Castracane

Castracane, Mattea (Mary), 82, on February 18, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Pietro. Loving mother of Luciano and Lisa. Dear mother in law of Elizabeth. Devoted Nonna of Eleanor, Jennifer, Bryan, Kevin, and David. Predeceased by parents Benedetto & Maria, and brother, Michael. Survived by sisters Catherine & Josephine, brother in law Vincent, sisters-in-law Joy, Mary, Sabina & Ida, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

After coming to the US from Italy at a young age, she made a career as a talented seamstress, working for some of the top fashion houses. She loved to garden, which was evident in the beautiful flowers that adorned her house, and the delicious fruits and vegetables that she grew. Above all, she was dedicated to her family, and will be dearly missed.

Friends may call Wednesday, February 23, 2022, visiting hours from 2-7pm at Frederick's Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Blvd, Flushing.
