

Michael Alfred Roma Sr., a beloved family man, businessman and dedicated sports fan, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024. He was the cherished husband of the late Marjorie Wynne Roma and a devoted father to Michael (Vicki) Roma Jr. and Robert (Karen) Roma. Michael was a proud grandfather to Kristin (George) Dunnigan, Kimberly Roma, and Robert Roma Jr., and an adored Poppy to his great grandchildren George, Olivia, and Michael.Born into a loving family headed by the late Salvatore & Jennie Roma, Michael was the dear brother of Judith Kissarewski and the late James Vincent Roma, Marie Newman, Julia Devine, Gerald Roma, and Robert Roma. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends who will remember him for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. From the time Michael was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1954 his dream of owning his own business materialized in 1969 when he founded Champion Stationery & Printing Corporation. For the next 25 years Michael along with his two sons ran one of the most successful independent office products company in New York City.An avid sports enthusiast, Michael found joy in cheering for his favorite teams: the Mets, Yankees, Rangers, Jets & Giants. His passion for sports was matched only by his love for family, and he treasured the moments spent with them. The family of Michael Alfred Roma Sr. will be receiving visitors on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 9:45 AM at St. Anastasia's Roman Catholic Church, 45-14 245th St, New York, NY 11362. The Interment will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, New York, NY 11365.
