I have a fond memory of my Uncle Pete. He was always an inspiration to me. He was quiet yet could tell a great joke. He had a great work ethic that I admired. Your dad and mom were always very loving to me. My thoughts and prayers are with the Mallia family at this time.

Cousin Pete was an older brother to me.  When my brother joined the service, he stepped into that role.  I am grateful for his guidance and for all that he taught me throughout the years.  Your sense of decency and love of family will always be in my soul.  Rest easy and say hi to everyone for me.



Pete was always a man of integrity, strength, and a great role model. When Pete arrived in the USA he soon became my parents adopted son.  My dad helped him get a sense of what it was like to be an American.  He was a brother to me.  He and I often sat and talked about many things and I learned about things being right and wrong.  When he would point out a short fall of mine it turned out to be a compliment.  When he left our house to start his own home with Joyce I missed him terribly.  During his time in the marines his "gigline" was always straight as was his character.   He knew the importance of honesty and hard work.  He set me a good example.

Rest In Peace Pete Malia! Our Families spent a lot of Fun Times together! So many memories’! Pete always made us laugh and seeing our Dad and Pete together was always entertaining! We will miss you and now Joyce and Pete are together again with our Mom and Dad!

I have many good memories of our family, especially Sunday dinner.

Uncle Pete was like a grandfather to me and my sister Christina.  As a kid I remember all the great memories during Christmas time at his home in Queens. He was the first person to teach me how to thumb wrestle.  When I played soccer he would come watch and give me tips on the field.  He was one of the most caring people I knew.  Always very close with my Mom and attentive to her struggle with MS.  As an adult I have the fondest of memories at my cousin Paula’s house during Thanksgiving and all of our Easter brunch’s throughout the years.  My wife Jill would always say he was one of the sweetness people she had ever met.  I will always have a special place in my heart for Uncle Pete and will miss him dearly.

My memories of you and Aunt Joyce are wonderful.  There weren't two nicer people I've ever known.  I will always cherish the pictures you took of me (with cowboy hat) when I was a boy.  These pictures hung in my parents house for many years and now my house.  As time went on, we didn't see each other much but my last memory was you asking me to get you a drink from the bar (Michael's wedding) and not telling anyone...I love you and send prayers to everyone.  R.I.P...

Distance may have kept us apart but you were always close to our hearts.

So many family memories of our backyard bbq’s together with Pete & my Dad then and then as ushers together at Blessed Sacrament. This is the true definition of friends becoming family!

There are too many memories to put down on paper, but will forever live in my heart.  Neighbors came and went, but the Mallia family were fixtures in our lives.  What a childhood we all had together...from our annual trip to Connecticut, to backyard barbeques, to Marcial and Pete arguing with their Cuban and Maltese accents, how to pronounce to word 'dollar'!! Loved it all and still makes me smile.  The tears I'm shedding as I write this are tears of sorrow that Peaches has left us, tears of joy that he's reunited with the love of his life, Joyce.
