As a young child, Bob often took himself to the library in Courtland, N. Y., the place of his birth. He was searching for books on stick car racing and history. It was the beginning of a lifelong search for information and knowledge.
Moving to Flushing at seven enabled him to broaden his search; trips to the Metropolitan Museum gave him the opportunity to sit in front of a Titian, a Rubens or even a Matisse and sketch, quietly, for hours.
His 3 years as a member of the 82nd. Airborne division enabled him to explore the battlefields of the Civil War and begin a lifelong study of that period.
A graduate of St. Francis College and N.Y. U. (M.B.A. in Public Admin.), led him to a career in Management consulting.
His love of opera would often find him at the Metropolitan Opera house, where he would hum along with the chorus from Don Giovanni to Faustus.
His was a life will spent in quiet thought , among his books, doing an exegesis of subjects as varied as king Frank Joseph 1, of Hungary , J.F.K. or the Ottoman Empire.
