Senka Simic, a beloved mother, dedicated civil engineer and cherished friend, passed away on July 22, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 11, 1964 in Yugoslavia, Senka brought her vibrant spirit and boundless determination to New York in 1997, where she settled in Queens and built a life filled with love and resilience.
Senka was the proud and devoted mother of two wonderful children, Mihailo and Jovana Simic. Her love for them knew no bounds, she always prioritized their happiness and well-being above all else. Her home was a haven filled with warmth, love and color, where delicious aromas from her kitchen filled the air. An exceptional cook, Senka’s meals were a testament to her creativity and love. She had a deep fondness for the beach, where she found peace and joy in the simplicity of the waves and the sand.
Professionally, Senka was a skilled civil engineer, respected by her colleagues and admired for her dedication and hard work. Her intelligence, unwavering determination and positive attitude made a significant impact on those around her. Despite any hardships she may have faced throughout her life, including her battle with cancer, Senka remained a beacon of hope and optimism. Truly an inspiration to those who knew her.
Senka brought light to every room she entered through her vibrant and inquisitive personality. Her strength, kindness and unwavering positivity left a permanent mark on the hearts of many. She will be deeply missed by her children, family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us to cherish every moment and to face life’s challenges with grace and courage.

A memorial service will be held by her family at Frederick Funeral Home on Northern Blvd in Queens, NY, on July 25th from 5 PM to 9 PM
