Martha and Alison and family, 

We would again like to express our deepest sympathy on your loss. Al was a most interesting guy as we shared many amusing and enjoyable dinners together.   After all he was through we are certain he is finally at peace in a much better place.  Let us know if we can be of assistance before we see you again.

Al and I meet in college, joining the same fraternity almost 50 years ago.  We immediately became friends and saw each other socially or talked on the phone until his recent passing.  While in college we got involved in a few money-making projects. (Coins, etc.)   After graduation we began doing taxes under A & W Tax Preparation.  We took trips, visiting the Jack Daniels distillery in Tn. (his preferred drink of choice) Later on N.C. mountains would become his summer get away with Martha from the heat of Miami.  

Al was living in Miami and in 1971 our family moved there where we began playing canasta with our wives, guys against gals. (Of course, Al and I remember the guys winning more often)

Al was a muscle car guy.  Corvettes were his car of choice.  I never could count how many he owned, but as new models arrived, he was first in line.  He did throw in a Porche and a few other cars in the mix.  
Numismatics, bowling and video poker (cigars too) were all at the top of his to do list.  Driving to California from Miami, stopping in Vegas at Caesars for the video poker and many times for a Bowling tournament as he headed to a national numismatic convention in L.A. and then driving back home.  During all this Al had the most time for his wife Martha, daughter and son-in law Alison and Jeff, but Emily his granddaughter melted his heart.  

Al will be missed by all of the may lives he touched!

Martha and Allison as you know my m memory is long with your father and husband,70 yrs I think.  Cars were our thing, fast and glamorous were best.  Al got deep into bowling and achieved his goal of a PBA card, he was very proud of.  His passion for numismatics came organically from his Dad, and as wth his wife and daughter, he wanted only the finest available. For me he was fun and funny (and a little grumpy) he lived a good life, achieved his goals, and had loving friends and family.

One of my favorite times with you, Al, and Walt was when We drove to Tennessee and then to camp to visit our granddaughters. We stopped at a mom and Pop motel, moved some furniture outside, set up a table and played canasta.
It was a memorable fun trip, and I love you and Al for that
