Tomorrow would’ve been Doris’s 101 birthday! I remember one visit to a doctor’s appointment where everyone was in awe of her being in such great health, where we were all of the belief she’d be around for much longer. Months later and I’m still grieving and crying often. I miss her more than words! Picture provided was during her 100th birthday where her friends and loved ones came together to celebrate her special day. She was glowing and beaming with pure happiness. Love you forever Doris 🤍😔

Doris was my late father's first cousin. She traveled with my late mother and was a stylish woman who was always dressed impeccably. She was my biggest cheerleader as I proceeded on my professional life to become a lawyer. She was the Captain of her own ship until the very end. She was always impeccably dressed. She was a lifering to many, having regular conversations on the phone. I would send pictures to her devoted nurse, Kay, and she would share them with Doris, and we would discuss during phonecalls. She just wanted to know that we were happy and enjoying life, and sometimes, just a simple phone call was all that was needed. Doris had the biggest collection of ornamental elephants known to anyone.

A great lost of a true friend; will miss her in years!

There are no words to describe the love and adoration I had for this woman! She was a grandmother, a mother, a confidant and a friend. I’ll forever cherish the many memories we shared. She would provide me with such great guidance and sound advice as to navigate everyday life. 
A lover of food, shopping and everything fancy, she’d always be excited when I visited her to explore new cuisines, to shop on Amazon (or ‘Olympia’ as she always mistakenly called it), ‘You-bah’ (Uber Eats lol) and to carefully view the pages of every catalog delivered to her to add more souvenirs to her diverse elephant collection.
She had such interest in my life and was genuinely one of — if not my biggest supporter which truly moved my heart. Not to mention always calling me daily to inquire how my business was doing and to make sure I was getting rest and eating my meals on time.
Doris was one in a million, there will never be another soul like hers to walk this earth. She was beautifully crafted by God to touch and impact the lives of any and everyone that crossed her path.
I forever love you Doris! Sending her other friends and family my deepest condolences.
