If you would like to offer a gift in Lillian’s memory, here are two cherished institutions that have held great meaning to the extended Cohen family for five generations... and are still going strong. If you would like to give to either of these organizations, we would be honored.
Many thanks from Michael, Rosa, Donna, Ken and Danny
Surprise Lake Camp is a special place, a home away from home for generations of young people. Our Jewish identity and values shape our days and our connection to nature. SLC is dedicated to helping young people unplug, grow, and develop values, confidence, and skills to last a lifetime. And we are fortunate to share this extraordinary place, this setting of incredible natural beauty, adding to SLC’s storied history as the nation’s longest-running Jewish sleepaway camp.

Educational Alliance, one of New York City’s original settlement houses, was founded in 1889 to offer educational, social, and cultural services to Jewish immigrants arriving to the Lower East Side. Today, EA serves over 40,000 people of all backgrounds throughout Lower Manhattan, providing services including education, immigrant services, arts and culture, substance abuse and prevention, and community-building. EA believes the right programs can dramatically unleash the potential – for happiness, productivity, and creativity – in people who often don’t have that opportunity.
