We loved Cantor Hecht. He taught bar mitzvah lessons to our 2 old sons and then he told us he was retiring in June 2019 from WJC. Our 2ns son's  bar mitzvah was on a Sunday (Rosh Chodesh and it was the same day as Alef concentration and he showed up for a few minutes to listen to our son, we were thrilled) .We spoke to him privately and asked him if we can hire him to teach bar mitzvah lessons to our 3rd, he smiled. We were devasted 2 years ago when we heard of his tragic death. Now it's time for our youngest to start his bar mitzvah lessons and we are heartbroken that Cantor Hecht is no longer here. May his memory always be a blessing, he was a great man!!!

I worked with Stu at P.S. 260 for twenty years. We shared early morning discussions almost every day. I learned a great deal from him.

Sending our deepest condolences.  We are all very saddened by the news. Our older 2 boys had cantor Hecht for their bar mitzvah lessons at WJC as well as teffilah , we were very pleased with him. Our youngest always came to his brothers lessons and would always correct them and cantor Hecht would laugh. Our youngest had him the last 2 1/2 years for teffilah and from the start picked up all the prayers very quickly. We will all miss him. May his memory be a blessing. The Raminfards
